Unhappy about the hidden charges that appeared on the bill at the end. When asking for extras like another plate and tomato sauce we weren't informed it would cost extra. Restaurants are within their rights to charge what they choose but as it wasn't listed on the menu and we weren't informed by the waiter it is a bit cheeky and underhand. Bringing this up politely to the manager and suggesting informing customers of hidden costs for things that are otherwise complimentary, to avoid confusion and surprise, resulted in him being quite rude. We were charged $1 extra for a small pot of tomato sauce and also $1 for hot chilli sauce I didn't order. Honey packet for coffee cost $.50 plus $1 for extra plate, to name a few. Cheap behaviour from Cafe Europe as their menu prices are average. So keep a look out for that as getting an extra $5 a table probably ends up being quite lucrative for the cafe. Food was average but yummy and service from our waiter was good.
